Configuring Transactional Documents

Topic: Setup > Configuration

Transactional Documents such as Sales Quotes, Sales Invoices, Purchase Orders, Expense Claims, Timesheets etc. are all configured in a similar way.

To configure a particular Transactional Document such as Sales Invoice, from the Explorer click Setup->Configuration. This displays the Configuration page. Then Click 'Sales Invoice', this displays the Sales Invoice Configuration Document. Simply follow the same procedure for Sales Quotes, Purchase Orders, Timesheets, Expense Claims etc.

For a particular Transactional Document, such as for example Sales Invoice, the Sales Invoice Configuration Document lets you,

1.Configure the Ref # generation for that document. For more information on Ref # use and configuration see Working with Reference numbers (Ref #).
2.Set the default Document Template which controls how the Document is printed, and what columns are displayed in the associated Line Item Table (if appropriate). For more information see Working with Document Templates.
