Memos can be attached to virtually any Document in salesorder.com. Memos can be scheduled to appear on your Calendar or To-do list. In the top right hand corner of most Documents you can click on the icon, to record information specific to that Document. When you record and save a Memo the Document displays a to tell other users viewing the Document it has a Memo 'attached'. You can attach as many Memos as you need to a Document. When you click on the icon salesorder will pop a window displaying the list of Memos attached to the Document. You can view the Memo details by clicking on the to display the Memo itself.

Creating a new Memo Memos can be created in a number of ways. However there are two basic categories of Memo, those that reference a Document (i.e. are 'attached' to a Document) and those that do not.
To create a Memo that is attached to a Document simply click on the icon at the top left had corner. This will display a new Memo Document. On saving this Memo will be attached to the Document, is signified on the Document by the icon. Clicking this icon will popup a window displaying all the attached Memos.
To create a Memo that is not attached to a Document use one of the following:
Memos and the Calendar Memos can be 'scheduled' on a particular date. When scheduled the Memo will appear on the Calendar at the appropriate date. See Working with the Calendar
Also Memos's can be put on your to-do list (by clicking the to-do checkbox). Again this will display the Memo on the Calendar's To-do list.
Sorting Memos into 'types'. The information you record is often specific to a situation, and it's a good idea to give the Memo a 'Type'. This is useful when you want to recall or find all of the information of a certain type/category. Salesorder.com already defines a variety of Types, but you can set up as many Types as you need to categorize and sort your Memos. See Configure Memo types.
